WHAT IS GROUP DIRECTION?

Group direction is a form of holy listening and attending to the Spirit of God in one’s daily life, done in a group setting. It is an intentional relationship where a trained spiritual director/listener facilitates a space where a small group of people reflect on their own experience, and God’s leading and relationship to them. Overtime, your ability to pay attention and respond to God’s voice increases. Each member of the group is invited to participate in listening to both the sharer and the Holy Spirit, offering reflective questions and insightful noticing to help the person discern God’s invitations of deeper relationship.   

WHAT IS THE PROCESS TO BEGIN GROUP DIRECTION?  

To begin, a group of 4-6 willing participants is necessary. The group will agree to keep confidentiality on what has been shared, and any other commitments as determined by the participants (i.e., frequency of meeting).

Sessions are 90 minutes long. Typically, we would meet monthly or bi-monthly on a mutually convenient schedule.    

Sessions are in-person at my office or a mutually agreed to location.    

The session fee depends on the number of participants and number of sessions. Please inquire for more details.

MY GROUP DIRECTION PRACTICE AND COMMITMENT:

• I am committed to a practice of safety and confidentiality,  and continued learning in the field of spiritual formation and soul care.

• I am also in supervision by a more experienced spiritual director and meet with my spiritual director monthly.  

• I am a member of the Evangelical Spiritual Director Association (ESDA).   

• I have a Masters degree in Spiritual Formation and Soul Care from Talbot Seminary,  Biola University and also serve at Biola at the Center for Spiritual Renewal, practicing spiritual direction for graduate students and Biola University staff.
